Abstract

1384725 Two-part couplings BUNKER RAMO CORP 20 March 1972 [8 April 1971] 12946/72 Heading H2E In a two-part coupling one part 1 comprises a housing 16 with an internal boss 17 in which a keying member 9 is positionable in several predetermined rotational positions, there being a complementary keying member 10 in the other part 2 of the coupling. The keying member 9 comprises one end 13 having an octagonal exterior surface and another end 11 being divided into two resilient tongues 30, 31, a shoulder 12 on tongue 31 engaging a shoulder 18 on the boss 17. A contact-carrying block 6 is inserted in the housing 16 around the octagonal end 13. The keying member 10 includes a protruding pin 22 with a key 23 which fit within the end 13 and keyway 15. A groove 26 on the tongue 31 provides visual indication of the position of the keying member 9. The parts are held together by a bolt 25. Contact blades 3 in the part 2 mate with jacks 5 which are mounted in the block 6 and having clamp terminals 7. A gland 8 supports a cable.
