Abstract

1323367 Two-part couplings BENDIX CORP 19 April 1971 [27 March 1970] 25537/71 Heading H2E [Also in Division F2] A connector assembly for coupling electric leads 51 and fluid conveyers 41 comprises ar insert 11 in housing 13, said insert having bores 12 to accept an electric connector plug 50 and a first fluid conduit 1 and a resilient material insert 21 in housing 23 said resilient insert containing electric connector socket 53 and a second conduit 1, such that when the two housings are brought together by the screw coupling ring 31 electrical contact is established via 50, 53, and the first conduit 1 enters the resilient bore 22, the annular boss 3 compressing the bore walls to seal the fluid connection. Annular lugs 7 retain the connectors within their bores. Flanges, Fig. 1 (not shown), may be used to secure the connector housing 13 to a panel and a polarizing groove 27 is provided Fig. 1 (not shown) in housing 23 to co-operate with a projection 17 on housing 13. The resilient material may be rubber, neoprene rubber, nylon or a plastic polymer.
