1381686 Electron beam apparatus AIRCO Inc 17 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 23549/73 Heading H1D An electron gun in an electron beam furnace comprises a focusing electrode 11 in which there is a channel 12, at least one accelerating electrode 14 of a positive potential relative to electrode 11, and from four to eight elongated filaments 16 of thermionically emissive material, the filaments being mutually parallel and supported in the channel 12.
