Abstract

1372547 Making tag ring elements; stamping AMERICAN FLANGE & MFG CO Inc 5 Oct 1971 [5 April 1971] 29987/73 Divided out of 1327545 Headings B3A and B3Q [Also in Division B8] A tag ring element 7 for reinforcing a container wall opening surrounded by an upwardly drawn neck and providing identifying tag and closure seal affixing means, comprises a flat annular blank having an outermost free edge 9, a circular central opening 8 and at least one eyelet 10 formed in the blank, the central opening having a diameter which, in use, enables an inner portion of the annular blank surrounding the opening to be drawn upwardly into a cylindrical neck adapted to overlie the container wall opening neck. Methods and apparatus for forming the container closure are disclosed in Specification 1,372,545.
