Abstract

1349535 Container closures RIEKE CORP 17 May 1971 15309/71 Heading B8T A container 11 is provided, around its opening, with an annular flange 13 having an outwardly-directed lip 31. Over this is placed a mounting portion 21 of a closure, and an anchor ring 38, 39, 41, made of steel or similar material. To achieve a seal, the outer wall 41 of the anchor ring is crimped to the position shown in Fig. 4, the outer wall 34 of the closure being forced under the lip 31 by a bead 42 on the anchor ring.
