136,936. Silver, T., and Glassey, W. H. Jan. 14, 1919. Driving-gear.-The power-transmission shaft m of a change-speed gear is driven from a crankshaft d, through a cam shaft n. A wheel on the crank-shaft gears with a wheel 4 which drives through a wheel 5 the valve-actuating cam shaft n carrying wheels 8, 9 which gear with wheels 12, 11 respectively on the transmission shaft m. The wheel 5 gears with a wheel 10 which actuates a magneto and is mounted upon the shaft m. The wheels 10, 11 are mounted loosely upon the shaft m and carry dog-teeth forming portions of clutches with the teeth on the sliding wheel 12. A cam 6 for actuating the exhaust valve is carried by the wheel 4. A kick-starter may be applied to one end of the shaft m. Additional wheels on the shaft n may transmit other speed ratios to the shaft m.
