1366779 Latches OFF METALLURGICHE E FONDERIE G RIVADOSSI SAS DI RIVADOSSI PILOTELLI BIANCA & C 22 Aug 1972 [2 Sept 1971] 38988/72 Heading E2A A latch comprises a cylindrical body 1 an operating member having a cam 14, a sliding element 3 within the body with shoulders 16 selectively engageable with the ends of the cam when operative, a bolt 9 connected to the sliding element for movement therewith a return spring 5 within a cavity in the sliding element and between a front plate 6 and a shoulder 7 of the body and wear resistant plates 17, 20 protecting from frictional wear the contact surfaces of the radially projecting cam which surfaces selectively act against the respective shoulders of the sliding element. One wear resistant plate 17 partly surrounds the operating member, which is a follower 13, with its bent over end portions covering the shoulders 16 on the body. The second plate 20 is mounted within a seat 19 at the base of the cam 14 and its end portions are bent to overlie the ends of the cam 14 and to be in contact with the bent end portions of the plate 17 when the follower is inoperative. The follower is movable by a handle shaft. The bolt 9 is relatively movable with respect to the sliding element 3 being connected to a rod 8 surrounded by a spring 11 and passing into the element 3 terminating by a ring 10 within the cavity and abutting the spring 5. The cylindrical body comprises two identical parts joined together.
