Abstract

1360634 Sliding bolts ALBERT MARSTON & CO Ltd 14 March 1972 [3 March 1971] 5942/71 Heading E2A A bolt keeper, for use with a sliding bolt 46 spring biassed to the fastening position, has a socket 29 to receive the bolt and a release member 9 movable into the socket from the inner end thereof to push out the bolt and disengage it from the socket. The release member 9, which slides into the socket 19 between two guides 10, is operated by a key acting through a five-lever and bell work mechanisms 24, 21, 20, 19, 16. The sliding bolt 46 is carried by a frame 36 spring biassed against a glass plate 34 and the bolt 46 is released by operation of the release member 9 or by fracture of the plate 34 causing the frame 36 to move rightwardly, engaging a flange at the rear end of the bolt 46.
