Abstract

1402701 Latch mechanisms REX LAASE & METALVAREFABRIK AS 20 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 13457/73 Heading E2A A latch mechanism comprises a latch case 1 in which is slidably mounted a bolt, the bolt consisting of two members 4, 5 one 4 of which carries a bolt head 3 which projects from the latch case 1. The two members 4, 5 are connectible by a coupling member 13 which is spring loaded into its connecting position, the bolt when the members 4, 5 are connected being operable by a handle operated follower 9. A key responsive means 21 is provided, the means 21 when operated cooperating with the coupling member 13 to cause disconnection of the two bolt members 4, 5 and to hold the bolt member 4 and bolt head 3 in their fastening condition. The key responsive means 21 is also operable such that it co-operates with a projection 25 of the bolt member 4 to urge the bolt member 4 into its unfastening position. Both bolt members 4, 5 are spring loaded towards their operative positions by springs 6, 7 respectively. The follower 9 and key responsive means 21 pass through slots 11, 20 respectively in respective bolt members 4, 5.
