Abstract
1381948 Sliding latch bolts H-G GREFERATH [trading as HANS-GERD GREFERATH] 16 March 1972 [24 April 1971] 12217/72 Heading E2A A sliding latch bolt 11 is actuated by a handle through a follower 29, a driving plate 17, one of two locking members 18 and a connecting locking member pivot pin 13, the other locking member being free from engagement with an abutment 16 on the driving plate by means of a plate 14 transversely displaceable to the bolt; the :bolt is disconnected from actuation by a key operated member acting on the plate 14 and the one locking member 18 to displace the latter from engagement with the abutment 16. The follower 29 is rotatable in both directions to move the driving plate 17 against springs 36. The key operated member engages surfaces of the plate 14 and the one locking member 18, to lift the member 18, and then to move the plate and member leftwardly to disconnect the bolt 11. The plate 14 is held in its lateral position by a locking plate which is inserted in the direction of bolt movement. As shown, the latch bolt is for left-hand use; for right-hand use, the plate 14 is transversely displaced and then locked so that the other locking member 18 engages the abutment 16.
