1460424 Lock mechanism LOCK CORP OF AMERICA 20 Nov 1974 [6 Dec 1973] 50241/74 Heading E2A A lock mechanism comprises a bolt 26 slidable in the lock casing, latch levers 34a-f pivotable at 40 in the casing to restrain bolt movement when biassed in one direction, spring means 44 to bias the levers in this direction, the spring 44 comprising a frame 46 with integral spring arms 48a-g in two banks, the arms of one bank extending toward but staggered from those of the other bank. As shown, bolt 26 comprises plate portion 28, a locking nose portion 30 and a locking bar 32 fast with and perpendicular to plate part 28, which also has a key actuation slot 31. A master lever 36 has a pivot pin 38 on which latch levers 34a-f are freely pivotable, and an actuator bar 58 extending through aligned openings 60 in the latch levers. The latch levers have a slot 68 and a lug 70 to cooperate with bar 32 of bolt 26 to retain it in its locked or unlocked position. On anticlockwise rotation of a key from the Fig. 2, unlocked position, latch levers 34 are raised thereby against springs 48 and bolt 26 moved to the left, bar 32 passing along slot 68, the levers snapping back after passage thereof to retain it in its locked position. The master lever 36 when raised by a master key against spring 48g raises all levers 34 by means of bar 58 to permit locking or unlocking. For Figures see next column
