Abstract

1411469 Latches AISIN SEIKI KK 31 Oct 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 50707/73 Heading E2A A motor vehicle door latch comprises two rotary latch-bolts 26, 28 which close at 74, 76 around a striker pin (not shown), each bolt being latched by a pawl 30, 32 rotating on the pivot-spindle 14 or 16 of the other latchbolt. The pawls have abutment surfaces 38, 44 respectively engageable with safety and fulllatch surfaces 34 and 36, and 40 and 42 on the bolts. The bolts are biassed open by spring 60, and the pawls are loaded by a common spring 46 on projecting arms 48, 54, these being prised apart to release the latch by a pair of interlocked levers (82, 94, Figs. 7 and 8, not shown).
