1,254,392. Door catches. Z. TUTIKAWA. 23 Feb., 1970, No. 8560/70. Heading E2A. A door catch for hinged or pivoted double doors 15, 15' consists of a double catch mechanism A to be fixed to a structure forming a doorframe 2 for the doors, and a pair of keepers B, B' to be fixed one to each door, the catch mechanism comprising a rectangular cross-section tubular casing 3 having opposite end openings, two slidable bolts 3, 3' disposed in the casing with portions of the bolts protruding from the end openings under pressure of a spring 4 interposed between the bolts, and a locking member 8 disposed in the casing and engaged therein with one bolt 3' so as to move with that bolt, the locking member having one end portion exposed at the opening from which the second bolt 3 protrudes, the keepers having recessed portions 12 for engagement with the protruding portions of the bolts, and the keeper to be engaged with the second bolt having a portion 11 for abutting against the exposed end portion of the locking member as a stop to prevent retraction of the first bolt engaged with the locking member. Instead of the bolts 3, 3' having the substantially triangular shape shown each can be a roller.
