Abstract

1365181 Screwdrivers G M BARAGWANATH 10 March 1972 [15 March 1971 8 July 1971 18 Nov 1971] 11436/72 Heading B3N [Also in Division B4] The handle 46 of a tool, e.g. a ratchet screwdriver, is pivotally connected to a shank 44 extending from a one way clutch mechanism 42 so that the handle may be adjusted from an inline position to an angular position, as shown, to apply greater torque, the shank 44 being accommodated, when in the in-line position, in a recess 48 in the handle, locking means also being provided for selectively locking the handle in either of the two positions. The locking means may comprise a gapped ring 52 rotatably mounted on the handle and arranged to co-operate with the edge of the shank, with recess 60 or with hole 62.
