Abstract

894,363. Wrenches; screwdrivers. MITCHELL D. A., and HIBBERT, S. G. Aug. 29, 1960 [May 30, 1959], No. 18510/59. Class 61. A handle for a screwdriver, spanner, &C., comprises inner and outer rotary members 10, 11 respectively having a one-way ratchet and pawl mechanism 12 operative between them, the outer member 11 being encircled by a hand grip portion, the inner member 10 being adapted at each side thereof to receive a tool whereby the handle can be used for rotating the tool in either direction. The member 10 has a through bore 14 providing oppositely facing sockets each provided with a diametrically opposite groove adapted to receive corresponding lugs 17 on the tool, a spring loaded detent 19 prevents the tool from falling out.
