Abstract

1,105,995. Wrenches. KELSEY-HAYES CO. 8 Sept., 1966 [22 Sept., 1965], No. 40214/66. Heading B4W. A wrench socket comprises a socket 17 provided at one end with inwardly projecting lobes 19 adapted to engage the flat sides of a polygonal nut and at the other end with similar lobes 18 detachably to receive a male driving member of a wrench. As shown, a male driving member 16 is provided on one end of an extension bar 14 having at its other end a socket 15 provided with lobes adapted to receive a male driving member 13 on a ratchet wrench 10. The driving members are each provided with a spring detent which engages in an annular recess in the socket. The head 11 of the wrench is provided with a lever 12 which is moved to shift the mechanism in the head 11 so that the driving member 13 may be rotated in either direction.
