Abstract

909,709. Hand saw handles. YOUNG, S. G. March 12, 1959, No. 8664/59. Addition to 881,650. Class 61. An improvement in or modification of the invention of the saw blade holder of the parent Specification consists in providing a handle and holder comprising two complementary parts 1, 2 adapted to be secured together in registering relation to grip a blade therebetween in at least two different angular positions with respect to the axis of the handle part. The ridge 6 on handle part 2 which co-operates with the recess 8 in handle part 1 is cut away at 10 to receive the blade 5. The recess 8 may be provided with a raised portion adjacent the cut-away portion 10 to grip the blade. Further gripping surfaces are provided by webs located inside the grip portions of the parts 1, 2. The screws 16 which secure the parts 1 and 2 and which engage the edge of the blade when in the position shown in broken lines may be positioned nearer the axis of the grip portion so that one or each screw is adapted to engage the edge of the blade in either of the two positions.
