Abstract

136,475. White, A. E., (Chicago Flexible Shaft Co.). June 12, 1919. Horse-clippers.-Fast and loose pulleys 10, 9 are arranged to telescope one within the other into the plane of a driving-belt 8, the movable pulley being secured to a longitudinally-movable shaft 2. The shaft 2 drives a horse-clipper through a flexible shaft, the first joint of which 3 is shown, the power being connected up by jerking the clipper. In the configuration shown, the belt 8 runs idly on the pulley 9. When the shaft 2 is pulled to the left, the pulley 10 passes under and lifts the belt, picking up the drive. A spring detent 18 holds the pulleys in either the " drive '' or " no drive " position.
