Abstract

173,798. Decoux, R. July 12, 1920. Expanding-pulley gearing provides means by which the '' no-load " tension of the belt is automatically increased when the gear-ratio is lowered, and vice versa. In Fig.. 2 is shown means for operating pulleys 10, 11 differentially, comprising a lever 13 connected by a link 14 to one and by a cam 16 and cord 15 to the other. Figs. 3 and 4 show spring pulleys in which ordinary spring action is modified.
