Abstract

135,608. Pyburn, G. Nov. 28, 1918. Wire ropes. - Relates to wire ropes for haulage, in which the strands are formed of wires, twisted together with the twist in the same direction as the twist in the laying of the strands, and in which the strands are flattened, the wires being twisted round two wires laid side by side forming a core. The two core wires B are smaller than the outer wires A, and the flattening is effected by nips and rollers before the strands are laid together.
