Abstract

1350117 Yarn texturing RHONE-POULENC-TEXTILE 14 Oct 1971 [15 Oct 1970 (2) 22 June 1971] 47886/71 Heading D1F A process for simultaneously texturing a plurality of yarns comprises stacking and compressing at least two thermoplastic yarns by means of a stream of compressed hot fluid into a chamber having lateral apertures, so that part of the fluid escapes through the apertures and part provides forward movement of the yarns, the yarns being fed into the chamber separately along generatrices of the chamber. The described texturising apparatus comprises a nozzle 10 having tubes 22 to feed yarns 20 separately into chamber 13 where they are compressed to form stack 21. Steam is supplied through passage 11, and part of the steam escapes via passages 14 into chamber 16 where pressure is maintained lower than that in passage 11, but higher than atmospheric pressure, by regulator 17. The yarns in stack 21 are either immediately and continuously separated, or else the stack is stored before yarn separation.
