Abstract

1344354 Ground anchors; pile anchors K BAUER 19 April 1971 [12 Jan 1971] 25739/71 Headings E1B and EIH An anchoring device 1 comprising a corrosion resistant rod 2 and a plastics friction sleeve 9 with a corrugated outer surface is fixed in the ground by injecting a synthetic resin or cement adhesive between the rod 2 and the friction sleeve, inserting a drift tube and the device into a hole and prior to hardening of the adhesive, withdrawing the drift tube and simultaneously injecting hardening material into the hole. A bundle of rods may be used surrounding a tube for injecting the adhesive. The adhesive bond may be weaker near the outward end 7 of the device than at the end 3. The device may be used to secure sheet piling 5.
