Abstract

The tube string is used for anchoring sheet pile retaining walls etc. into subsoil behind the retained material and may be used for most common soil types. The tubes are threaded together at longitudinal extremities, inserted in the soil auger fashion, and are used to insert anchorage grout via valves provided in a lead tube. The lead tube has a cutting nose which is varied according to soil type, and is connected by suitable welding to a helical rib on the outside of the lead tube.
