Abstract

1333157 Propelling ships A P PEDRICK 27 Sept 1971 40713/71 Heading B7V A sailing ship has a propeller (3), Fig. 1 (not shown), forming part of its sail (4), the pitch of the propeller blades being adjustable so that the propeller is either stationary and acts as part of the sail area, or is rotatable by the wind to drive an electric generator supplying current to a battery which powers a motor driving a water propeller. A plurality of propellers may be mounted in one sail, Fig. 4 (not shown).
