Abstract

1,204,640. Submarines. A. P. PEDRICK. 18 Sept., 1969, No. 45963/69. Heading B7A. A submarine has a hull part 1 and a stern part 2, each of which is capable of being moved in stable buoyant equilibrium on the sea surface and which may be linked together or to a third intermediate part, the bow part carrying propulsion engines including an electric generator which can supply power through a cable to an electric motor in the stern part arranged to drive a water screw. The centre part may be telescopic. The vessel may be used for carrying cargo. Alternatively, the front may be openable so that fish may be sucked into the vessel, the unwanted water being discharged at the stern.
