1309753 Ships' transverse propulsion STONE MANGANESE MARINE Ltd 23 Oct 1970 [24 July 1969] 37328/69 Heading B7V A transverse propulsion unit to be mounted in tunnel 1 at the bow or stern of a ship comprises a housing within which is mounted a propeller 6 whose pitch may be varied by ram 48, 49 acting through rod 40 and crosshead 37 on bladepalms 28. Supply of oil to ram 48, 49 via pipes 54 is controlled at the bridge where may be displayed an indication of the pitch position of the propeller derived from the position of rod 55 on cam 56.
