When the sleeve 4 is applied to the bottle neck 1, the steeper faces 3A, 8A of the threads 3, 8 interengage to cause the sleeve to bulge and allow the rib 7 to slide over the bottle rib 2. However, once applied, the steeper faces 2A, 7A of the ribs 2 and 7 interengage so that any unscrewing motion applied to the sleeve causes the sleeve to bulge to cause the threads 3, 8 to slip over one another, The anti-refilling device may comprise a labyrinth of passages or, as illustrated, an insert 9 formed with an antisplash device 6 and a valve seat 12 which co-operates with a valve member 13 grooved at 14, to prevent refilling whilst allowing emptying. A cap 16 is threaded to the sleeve and carries a spigot 17 which engages the valve member 13.
