Abstract

1327035 Photographic development; diffusion transfer process AGFAGEVAERT 2 Oct 1970 [27 Oct 1969] 52567/69 Heading G2C An exposed photographic silver halide emulsion layer is developed by treating the layer with an aqueous alkaline hydroxylamine developing agent solution in the presence of a 1-aryl-3-pyrazolidinone of the formula: - where R 1 is aryl which may be substituted, each of R 2 and R 3 is H, alkyl, aralkyl or aryl and R 4 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, aralkoxy or aryloxy. The hydroxylamine developing agents include hydroxylamine itself, N-alkyl and N:N-dlalkyl-hydroxylamines and heterocyclic hydroxylamines e.g. N-hydroxypiperidine. The pyrazolidinone and hydroxylamine may each be present in the developer solution or in the light-sensitive material, and the development may form part of a silver salt diffusion transfer process.
