1,042,009. Photographic materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 28, 1963 [June 28, 1962], No. 25778/63. Heading G2C. A photographic material comprises a support bearing a hardened silver precipitating layer and an unhardened gelatino silver halide emulsion layer and the silver layer or an adjacent layer which is not the silver precipitating layer containing a semicarbazide to prevent hardening of the gelatine silver halide layer. The sodium salt of the semicarbazide hydrochloride is the specified semicarbazide. The adjacent layer, if present, may be a gelatin barrier layer between the emulsion and the precipitating layer or a layer overcoating the emulsion layer.
