Abstract
1,142,135. Developers. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORP. May 9, 1966 [May 26, 1965], No. 20510/66. Heading G2C. Developer solutions, silver halide emulsions or other layers of a photographic silver halide material or image receiving layers for the silver salt diffusion transfer process contain as a silver halide developing agent at least one ascorbic acid or isoascorbic acid acetal or ketal of the formula: wherein one of X and Y is alkyl of 1-5C and the other is H or alkyl of 1-5C. These developers are useful in the dye developer transfer process. In the silver salt diffusion transfer the developer may be present in a viscous processing solution containing a silver precipitant which subsequently sets to the image receiving layer (see Specification 714, 412). The ascorbic acid may be admixed with other developers e.g. 2.6-dimethoxy 4-aminophenol/or 1-hydroxy-2-methyl-3, 5-dimethoxy phenol.
