Abstract

1405948 Regenerating photographic bleach fix solutions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 23 Oct 1972 [22 Oct 1971] 48826/72 Heading G2C A photographic bleach-fix solution is regenerated by adding make-up components to the bleachfix solution to make up for those used during bleach-fixing, without removing any silver salt from the solution, the amount of silver salt present in the bleach-fix solution being kept below 10 g/litre of bleach-fix solution. The bleaching agent and fixing agent in the bleach-fix solution may each be present at 5-200 g/litre of bleach-fix solution and components may be added to maintain these concentrations during bleach-fixing. Prior to bleach-fixing, exposed and developed photographic silver halide material may be subjected to pre-fixing to remove a substantial portion of soluble silver salt from the material to keep the amount of silver salt in the bleach-fix solution down to the required level. Alternatively, the amount of coated silver in the photographic material before development may be kept below 2 g/m<SP>2</SP>. Regenerated solution may be returned to the bleach-fix bath at 200-1250 ml/m<SP>2</SP> photographic material.
