Abstract

1337071 Photographic processing FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 10 June 1971 [10 June 1970] 19946/71 Heading G2C A method of processing an exposed colourreversal photographic material comprising a support having coated thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, said support being a paper having a weight of less than 100g. /m<SP>2</SP>, a synthetic resin-coated paper, a resin impregnated paper or a resin film, which process comprises the following steps (1) black-andwhite developing for not more than 30 seconds, (2) colour developing for not more than 60 seconds and (3) bleach-stabilizing for not more than 60 seconds, there being no water washing steps. In a preferred form the process is conducted at above 30‹C. and comprises the one of a pastdevelopment bath (e.g. aqueous sodium sulphate) between steps (1) and (2) to control swelling of the emulsion, a slop bath between steps (2) and (3) and terminates in a bath consisting of an aqueous solution containing sodium sulphite sodium hydrogen phosphate, borax and sodium thiosulphite. This final bath improves the quality of the image surface and prevents stickiness. The bleachstabilizing bath contains an oxidizing agent for the developed silver and a complexing agent for silver ions. The oxidizing agent may be a trivalent iron ethylenediamine complex salt, a ferricyanide or potassium bi-chromate. The complexing agent may be sodium thiosulphate or sodium thiocyanate.
