Abstract

1298542 Developing silver halide photographic materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [4 Feb 1970] 21347/71 Heading G2C A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material is developed in the presence of a thiazole compound represented by the following general formula: where R represents alkyl, aralkyl or aryl and R' and R" each represents H, or allkyl or they may together form a ring, in the examples the ring is benzene, which may be substituted with an alkyl group, and of an imidazole compound (the term 'compound' includes imidazole itself) represented by the following general formula: wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each represents H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or alkenyl. The thiazole and imidazole compounds may be incorporated in an emulsion layer of the photographic material, or alternatively they may be in an aqueous developer solution, which contains as the developing agent at least one of 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone and N-methyl-p-aminophenol sulphate.
