1298249 Development of photographic silver halide materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 27 Nov 1970 [29 Nov 1969] 56441/70 Heading G2C [Also in Division C2C] Photographic silver halide materials are developed in the presence of a compound of the formula where R is alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, R 1 and R 2 are each hydrogen or alkyl or together represent a ring condensed in the thiazole ring, and wherein the alkyl, aralkyl and aryl groups may be substituted. The compound is preferably present in the developer but may be present in the silver halide material. The compounds give softer gradation especially for microfilms.
