Abstract
1,244,697. Photographic development process. ILFORD Ltd. June, 25, 1970 [June 26, 1969], No. 32426/69. Heading G2C. Exposed photographic silver halide materials are developed in the presence of an antifoggant of the formula: - where X is O, S or Se; R is H, alkyl which may be substituted, aralkyl, aryl or -SR 5 where R 5 is H or alkyl which may be substituted; at least one of R 1 to R 4 is NO 2 and the remainder are each hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, aralkyl, alkoxy, mono or dialkylamino, acylamino or nitro. The antifoggant may be present in the material, e.g. in the emulsion layer, or in the developer. The development may be effected at above 30 C. in a developer containing glutaraldehyde as hardener.
