Abstract

1322304 Hatch covers ALGOSHIP INTERNATIONAL Ltd 10 March 1972 [13 March 1971] 11235/72 Heading B7S Apparatus for covering a hatchway on e.g. a ship or barge comprises a pair of hinged panels 5a, 5b. Panel 5a is pivoted to a deck bracket 21 by means of hinge brackets 11, which extend outwardly and downwardly, and links 23, 30 which are pivoted to panel 5a and bracket 21 respectively. An hydraulic jack 18 extends between the interconnection of links 23, 30 and bracket 21 to effect opening and closing of the panels which is assisted by rollers 35, 38 on panel 5b which rim on rails on the coaming 8. The assembly 11, 18, 23, 30 or 11, 18, 21, 23 and 30 may be readily detachable from the hatchway to enable it to operate several hatchcovers.
