1,006,181. Skylights. GOTAVERKEN A.B Sept. 4, 1964 [Oct. 3, 1963], No. 36277/64 Heading B7S. A skylight consisting of a coaming 1 surrounding the casing opening 2 and extending above the deck 3 has the coaming provided with an external strengthening flange 4 forming a horizontal ledge around the coaming at a considerable distance below the upper limit thereof and a cover 6 designed as an inverted box mounted on hinges outside the coaming, the dimensions of the cover being bigger than the corresponding ones of the coaming and having essentially plane side walls 7 more than twice as deep as the distance from the ledge to the upper limit of the coaming. The upper surface of the cover has glazed openings 11. The cover may be operated by any suitable means, e.g. by hydraulic rams 9.
