1398932 Marine steering device R G FULLER 19 July 1972 [20 July 1971] 33725/72 Heading B7V In a marine steering device screw propeller 1 is mounted within duct 2 and passages 4, 5 penetrate the walls of the duct, one on each side of the duct. Sluice gates 6 operated by hydraulic jacks 7 can partially or completely open or close the passages. The embodiment shown is rigidly mounted on the hull of a vessel by bracket 3 but the duct may be pivotally mounted on a vertical axis through the propeller. A rudder may also be mounted on the duct.
