Abstract

1316340 Nestable and stackable crates FREYA-PLASTIC FRANZ DELBROUCK GmbH 23 Oct 1970 [20 March 1970] 50552/70 Heading B8P A crate comprises tapered sides 2, 3 and a pair of tapered corrugations 6 in each of the sides 3, the spacing between the connections of one pair being different to that between the corrugations of the other pair so that the crate may be nested within a lower similar crate when the corrugations are aligned and may be stacked upon a lower crate when its corrugations are 180 degrees out of alignment with those of the lower crate. As shown, the crate is formed of plastics material, has an integral construction and comprises a peripheral lip 8 provided with recesses 15 for receiving the corrugations 6 of a stacked crate, a convex bottom 10 provided with T-sectioned struts 4, 9 extending downwardly to the plane of the crate base and supported on rings (11, Figs. 1, 3). The crate also includes handholes 12 having upper edges 13 composed of upwardly facing or downwardly facing channels which may be bridged with webs. The sides 2, 3 are formed of T-sectioned webs 4 and the sides 3 which are higher than the sides 2 are provided with comer columns 16.
