Abstract

The rectangular base (1) has four sides (2, 3, 4, 5) sloping outwards to a double flange (6) at the top, this flange forming a stiffener. One narrow side (4) has a wide, flat-topped, central projection (7, 8) and two narrower, flat topped, corner projections (9, 10, 11, 12) on the inside, forming recesses on the outside. The opposite side (5) has two wide corner projections (15, 16), also flat topped (17, 18), forming a central recess (19) inside. All projections end a short distance in from the top of the container. Underneath the base (1) are lugs (24, 27) which act as locating feet when stacking, a foot resting on a projection. Short vertical side ribs (28) prevent sticking when nesting.
