Abstract

1,044,702. Stackable trays. EKCO PRODUCTS CO. Jan. 28, 1965 [Nov. 12, 1964], No. 3900/65. Heading B8P. A tray for both stacking and nesting has a base 10, 11 enclosed within two spaced parallel frame members 12, 12 and of square shape, two additional sections of the base extending its area beyond and in the direction of the frame members so that the whole is of rectangular shape, the edges of the base except for the central square-shaped section having upright walls 13-15 &c., the walls providing along their upper edges 12a, 13 seats for a similar tray to be stacked in parallel alignment, when a third similar tray can be nested at right angles to the first two trays with its squareshaped central base section nesting on the corresponding section of the first tray, Figs. 5, 7 (not shown). As shown, the tray is made from welded wires and rods 10 &c. A frame 16, 17 below the base 10, 11 fits within the upper edges 12a, 13 of the walls of a tray upon which it is stacked, to hold the two in interlocked relationship. The vertical struts 12b of the side walls of the third tray when in its nested position abut the frame members 12, 12 of the upper stacked tray, so that it is held in position.
