Abstract
1,119,022. Boxes. C. H. DRAPER. 24 Jan., 1967 [21 May, 1966], No. 3437/67. Heading B8P. Bars, extending between the upper edges of a pair of side walls of an open rectangular nestable container, can slide inwards from a position adjacent to the other pair of side walls to an inwards position, thus facilitating either nesting or stacking of like containers. In one form shown, a loop at each end of slidable bars 64, 55 encircles the upper edges 5, 6 of a pair of opposed side walls. Notches 72, 73 in the upper edges, locate the bars when positioned for stacking. When the containers are to be nested, the bars lie adjacent to the edges 3, 4. The notches (72), (73) may be formed so that the bars always drop into them unless held from doing so, Fig. 6 (not shown). The slidable bars may have notches (61), Fig. 5 (not shown), to locate the bottom of a stacked container and may lie on top of the edges 3, 4 when positioned for nesting.
