Abstract

1,070,493. Stackable and nestable containers. WCB CONTAINERS Ltd. Feb. 16, 1966 [Jan. 28, 1965; Sept. 6, 1965], Nos. 3756/65 and 37966/65. Heading B8P. An open-topped container has an outwardly directed rim (8), Fig. 1 (not shown), and four or more vertical solid external pillars (6, 13) and corresponding recesses (10, 14) in its walls, so that in one position the lower edges of the pillars will engage the rim directly above the pillars of a similar container, and by reorientating the container the pillars will be received in the recesses of a similar container to effect nesting. A flat lid may be retained in the box by clips or brackets at two adjacent corners under which the lid may be slipped and held in place by retaining elements at the other corners.
