Abstract

1315925 Paper-making apparatus J M VOITH GmbH 4 Feb 1972 [6 Feb 1971] 5405/72 Heading D2A A wire part of a paper-maging machine comprises a stock inlet nozzle 2, a perforated forming cylinder 1 and two wires 3, 4 extending round the cylinder 1 and forming a stockreceiving gap 5 at the lower part of the cylinder, the wires leaving the cylinder at the upper, rising quadrant of the cylinder and separating downstream with the outer wire 4 above the wire 3 and entraining the web. A suction box 7 has a wire-engaging surface 8 of two planar parts forming an obtuse angle, an da take-off felt 12 extends over a suction box 13. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the wire 4 is reversed by a suction cylinder downstream of the forming cylinder, and a take-off felt is reversed at a cylinder press having a doctor serving the press cylinder, the doctor not being situated above the felt and the web.
