Abstract

1384376 Paper-making apparatus BLACK OLAWSON CO 15 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 14786/71 Heading D2A In a twin-wire paper-making machine webs are formed on linear stretches of the wires extending between breast rolls 11, 21 and rolls 12, 22 and are merged between closely spaced vertical stretches of the wires extending downwardly from the rolls 12, 22 over adjustable deflectors 35 and a suction box 37. The consistency of each of the webs formed on the linear stretcher is controlled to ensure that the webs bond together. This control may be by choosing the most suitable length for each linear stretch and by supporting the wires on forming boards, suction boxes or foils 42, 45. The stock may be different for each web. A central headbox 55 may supply white water or stock between the merging webs or it may be used to produce a single web.
