Abstract
1327444 Paper-making apparatus BELOIT CORP 12 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 48414/70 Heading D2A Apparatus for forming fibrous webs from aqueous suspensions of fibres, e.g. for making tissue webs, comprises opposed wires F1, F2 extending round breast rolls 13, 14 to define a stock receiving gap G then over a smooth, curved, stationary, water-impermeable surface 15a of a third guide 15, a rotary surface of a fourth guide roll 16, and a stationary surface of a fifth guide 17 subject to suction. The stock is supplied through an adjustable slice 11 the jet of stock from which preferably contacts the wire F1 first. The breast roll 13 and the roll 16 are open rolls. The wires F1, F2 may be of bronze, steel, copper, plastics or fabric strands or of a plurality of different materials. A foil 16a for dewatering the rear side of the wire F1, a saveall Sa, and roll doctors 18a and 21b are provided, and the wires are driven by motors M1, M2 which are synchronised to drive both wires at substantially the speed of the jet leaving the slice 11. The formed web is transferred by a coach roll 19 to a felt PF leading to a Yankee dryer.
