Abstract

1362288 Paper-making apparatus J M VOITH GmbH 15 Oct 1971 [17 Oct 1970] 48165/71 Heading D2A A wire part of a machine for producing a web from a fibre suspension comprises a stationary water-permeable support 7 for supporting the wire 6, a stock chest with an outlet duct 3 covering the wire to provide a web-forming zone, and water-impermeable strips 9 adjacent the edges of the wire, the strips being at least as long as the web-forming zone and adjustable transversely of the wire. The support 7 is disposed above suction chambers 8 and the strips 9 may be disposed between the wire 6 and the support 7, as shown, or between the duct 3 and the wire 6, Fig. 3 (not shown). The strips 9 are adjusted by screws 10.
