Abstract

1314083 Coated non-woven fabrics CARL FREUDENBERG 29 April 1970 [30 April 1969] 20635/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B5 and Dl] Non-woven fabrics are bonded by an aqueous dispersion of polyvinyl chloride and natural or synthetic rubber that has been coagulated into spherules and are coated on one side by a P.V.C. or polyurethane applied directly or by the counter-coat process to give a 3 mm.-4 mm. thick layer. The layer may be dyed red or brown. The fabric may be a carded crosslaid needled fleece of 90% polyamide and 10% viscose rayon. It is impregnated with a 30% P.V.C. and 70% butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer, heated to 40‹C to coagulate the binder, calendered to remove water and heated in hot air at 140‹C to vulcanise the synthetic rubber and gell the P.V.C. The 360 g/m<SP>2</SP> fleece was coated with 400 g/m<SP>2</SP> P.V.C. A similar fleece of 70% polyamide/30 polyester was also coated with P.V.C. and the two fleeces laminated together by spot welding.
