Abstract
1,230,640. Non-woven fabric. CARL FREUDENBERG. 14 June,. 1968 [14 June, 1967], No. 28575/68. Heading D1R. [Also in Division C3] A non-woven fabric is bonded by impregnating the fabric with a dispersion containing a heat-coagulatable polyacrylate bonding agent and a non-coagulatable butadiene-acrylonitrile polymer bonding agent, causing the polyacrylate bonding agent to coagulate by heating the fabric and thereafter causing the butadieneacrylonitrile polymer bonding agent to some out of the dispersion, without coagulation, by further heating and thereby evaporation of the liquid medium of the dispersion. In the example, the dispersion contains anionic, cationic and non-ionic surface active agents and aluminium sulphate and is used to impregnate a mat of polyamide, rayon and polyacrylonitrile fibres, which is then heated to 42‹C., followed by further heating.
