Abstract

1,204,582. Non-woven fabric. CARL FREUDENBERG. 12 Jan., 1968 [12 Jan., 1967], No. 1831/68. Heading D1R. A fleece is bonded by impregnation with a vulcanisable binder dispersion which is coagulatable at a temperature below 35‹C., coagulating the dispersion, calendering at a temperature above 80‹C but below the binder vulcanising temperature and then heating to vulcanise the binder. The fleece can be calendered at 80-120‹C and vulcanised at 120- 130‹C. The nip pressure of the calender can be 20-60 kg/cm the binder can be foamed synthetic rubber. The binder contains zinc oxide and wetting agent and can be coagulated with ammonium chloride and formaldehyde or by heating. The fleece may be made of cellulose acetate, rayon, polyester, polyamide, polyacrylic or cotton fibres.
